The Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences at Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine is searching to fill two positions and invites applications for a full-time tenure and clinical track Assistant/Associate Professor in Small Animal Surgery.
An endowed Chair position is available as part of the tenure-track position. An infusion of funding to the CVM is enabling expansion, the purchase of new equipment, and a state-of-the-art, fully integrated minimally invasive surgical suite.
The small animal surgery service is supported by 1 ACVIM SAIM diplomate, 2 ACVECC diplomates, a 5 DVM primary care service, a shelter medicine & surgery service, a 4 DVM small animal ER service, and skilled RVTs and nurse assistants. You will have the opportunity to participate in an innovative teaching program supported by an enthusiastic group of educational professionals from our Office of Curriculum and Educational Support https://vetmed.okstate.edu/about/oces.html

Qualifications include a DVM or comparable veterinary degree, residency training in small animal surgery and certification by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) or the European College of Veterinary Surgeons (ECVS). Residency-trained candidates are encouraged to apply. Study time for the exam can be included in the contract. Eligibility for faculty licensure in Oklahoma is required.
These are full-time positions with an excellent benefits package, 4 weeks of vacation, start-up funding for research endeavors, and a fully equipped office. Funding support for professional development is provided. The ability to do up to 4 weeks of consultation work outside our referral area is also included. Professional rank will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience, including consideration of previous accomplishments towards future promotions.
