The best way to sum up the town of Memphis is this: Memphis is not a medium-sized city -- Memphis is a very large town. It is virtually impossible to go to a restaurant or event without running into a friend! Memphis has a much smaller 'feel' than larger cities, or even cities of the same size. The city is remarkably diverse. Memphis is the hub of numerous corporations and international institutions: FedEx, International Paper, St. Jude Children's Hospital, Smith & Nephew, UT Medical, Southern College of Optometry, to name a few. As a result, Memphis draws many unique, exciting professionals from all over the world. With regard to entertainment, culture, community-involvement and outdoor activities, you can find anything you're interested in in Memphis (literally). Obviously, the Memphis music scene is legendary. If you are into classic culture, the ballet, symphony and opera are world-class, and have recently made waves nationally with some innovative initiatives. Additionally, Memphis has a world-class zoo, which in 2009 was the highest-rated zoo in the country. The Mid-South region has rivers and lakes galore with plenty of fishing, hunting, kayaking, canoeing, etc. Memphis is also one of the most heavily wooded cities in the country, and boasts the largest urban park (Shelby Farms) in the country – which houses free-ranging buffalo. Shelby Farms is filled with trails for running, biking, dogs (on-leash, off-leash). You'll find all kinds of food; the barbeque is legendary! Nearby cities to explore include: Gulf Coast beaches (e.g. Destin, FL), New Orleans, Nashville, and St. Louis. At MVS, we take the health and well-being of our employees seriously, offering flexible working conditions and encouraging a well-rounded work/life balance. We offer a great compensation package, including a competitive salary, health insurance, 401K, PTO, generous CE allowance, additional PTO for CE, and reimbursement for membership and license fees.
