About EasTex Veterinary Clinic
Established in January of 1984 by Dr. James Weatherly, EasTex Veterinary Clinic was originally located in a 900 square-foot building and cattle pens without roofs. Dr. Weatherly worked 80-100 hours a week for 16 years, accompanied by his retired father, primarily on cattle, though they also treated small animals and equine. In 2000, Dr. Jason Richards joined Dr. Weatherly to build EasTex Veterinary Clinic into much of what it is today.
In 2015, Dr. Weatherly officially retired from veterinary work. He is now enjoying his much deserved time with family and friends. That same year, Dr. Acuña joined Dr. Richards as a co-owner of the practice, which served as a catalyst to yet another phase of sustainable growth at EasTex Veterinary Clinic.
Today, our clinic is compromised of a 5,000 square-foot small animal facility, 12,000 square-foot large animal facility, and an on site crematory. Dr. Richards and Dr. Acuña both work as full time veterinarians and enjoy the dynamic working environment this clientele provides.
