Paradise Animal Hospital has been providing for pets in Catonsville MD, and the greater Baltimore MD, area for over 25 years. Our family centered practice is currently seeking a full time Medical Director/Lead Veterinarian. The lead veterinarian serves as the clinical leader of the Hospital. He or she is responsible for the ongoing evaluation and management of clinical practices as well as the delivery of patient care. The lead veterinarian works in partnership with the practice manager and CVP to ensure a high standard of medical case management and to provide an excellent experience for our clients and their pets, as well as carrying a clinical caseload similar to your hospital colleagues. By continuing the traditions of outstanding and compassionate care, the lead veterinarian will be instrumental in understanding and meeting the hospital’s financial goals.
As the Lead Doctor at Paradise Animal Hospital, you will be working closely with the Practice Manager to support the needs and wants of the hospital. You will need to have an understanding of the strategic plan to be able to assist with managing and supporting the hospital’s financial goals (i.e. budgets, P&Ls, financial reports). In order to help run the hospital smoothly, you will need to be a part of the monthly lead doctor calls as well as attend the annual lead doctor meeting hosted by Community Veterinary Partners.
The hospital will only continue to be successful through the mentorship of new, incoming doctors. You will have a large role in developing the skills of these doctors which will continue to add to the success of Paradise Animal Hospital. You will have a few other responsibilities that will contribute to the success of the hospital. One of those is being able to continue to develop the exotic work at the practice. Another is working with the other doctors at the practice to evaluate new medical protocols and veterinary products. Paradise Animal Hospital is looking to develop and maintain best practices as we approach the 30th year of service.
Qualifications and Requirements
DVM or VMD degree from an accredited university
License in good standing to practice in the state of Maryland
At least 5 years of practice experience
Previous management or leadership experience is preferred
Accomplished surgical and exotic skills preferred
